From the desk of Keith Murphey:

I would like to announce the promotion of your new President Hector Rodriguez. He has been with CAG since 2003 and has been a CAG leader for many years now. Hector has real time management experience. Hector is a very good communicator, is very level headed and will continue to lead CAG in the right direction. In addition I believe Hector is one of the most decent human beings I have ever known.

This is not good-bye, as I will continue to go to meetings and be at social events for a long time to come. I’ll also be behind the scenes to help the group to continue to follow its mission.

CAG has helped keep my hope of being involved in the comic industry in check. There were many initiatives and undertakings, some of which produced fruit and some of which did not. But through it all, CAG persevered and stayed the course.

I’d like to take this moment to thank you all for all the great memories and experiences I’ve had on my watch. I’ll remember all my trips to NYC chapter meetings, all the great times we had in Northampton MA, and of course many wonderful meetings at a diner in Middletown CT. I’ll remember that there are some really great folks out in Lincoln, Nebraska, and some real talents that I had the privilege to meet in San Diego. I’ve grown and learned with a lot of you and I hope to continue to do so outside of being your president. I’ve always felt that the nine years I served the group was not just an honor but also a privilege. Thankfully I had a lot of help to get the group in the respective realm that it currently resides. But realistically I know there is still much work that needs to be done. CAG has a very bright future and will have lots more exciting opportunities for all that are interested in the months ahead. The CAG leadership is perhaps the finest group of people that I have ever worked with. They will continue to uphold what CAG is at its core when it was started.

Thank you for believing in the group and remember as long as there are comic book creators, there will always be a need for CAG!
